To RickBond, the area around Hillegom, Netherlands
G'day, here my first upload. Nothing very special. But with the good words of RickBond: Maybe for you it's nothing special, but others might like it. Well, here it is. The countryside of the metropolitan Hillegom, Netherlands. Next time with flowers I promise.

Nice upload. I've been to The Netherlands (sail boat shopping w/my husband to various boat builders in the early 90's). Can't recall the names of the towns and even if I could I couldn't spell them, wink) and of course to Amsterdam. This scenary stirs some fond memories. Maybe you can upload again when the tulips are in bloom.

@p8urbyk5 I know my uncle only grows tulips in the fall, he usually does carnations during spring summer.

The footage is fine. So is your English. Your urban/rural mix and the geography of your area is both interesting and different from my neck of the woods. Welcome to Yoursay. Tell your boy hello from America.

@john1054 I will say hello to him, thanks.... I try to post more soon, but then I have to go without my son. There is too much traffic over there and he is just learning to ride a bike in traffic (he is 5). Oh, btw, a big smile and hello back from my son. Hehe, now I have to explain what America is.........

Great first yoursay! Nice to see a dad and his son enjoying quality time together on a nice day. Looking forward to seeing the flowers in bloom, and the Bloemencorso. And if you're inclined to post more, I think a lot of us would like to see historic architecture and local food. The Ford museum would be interesting too. Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the shout out. Cheers!

@RickBond Thanks Rick, like I said, I remembered your words and I thought, this time I bring my camera with. Surprised me actually how different the area looks like when you seeking spots for filming. You see things you normally wouldn't see......

@RickBond Well yeah, I'm a bit flabbergasted. Didn't expect this at all. When I watched my own vid, I thought, oh my, that voice, the English that needs to be polished, is it not boring, etc...... Well, it certainly made my day.....

Great vid and not boring at all. I for one would much rather watch this sort of stuff over drunk Russians beating each other up etc.
Also, like most Dutch people I know, your English is excellent

Netherlands is an incredible place. I met a girl on a train from Den Helder to Amsterdam. During our 40 minute ride, we went from being strangers to her inviting me to stay at her place.
I have always wondered what would have happened if I had accepted.

@Flashovr I actually accepted those invitations every time and never regretted it. Weirdest and coolest stuff, those are great people.
Best one was a complete house full of weed. Plants everywhere. In the garden, livingroom, kitchen, everywhere. But not like production plants, more like your everyday house plants and they even had names Oo'. But the gal (56!) was a lovely woman with an immense wisdom and a track record of around the globe miles ... boy, I can tell ya, that was impressive.

Thanks for sharing, and your English is better than a lot of my fellow Americans/North Carolinians.
Enjoy your evening, sir.

@Blech Thanks mate, I appreciate your nice comment. Well, it is kind of hard to say something in English, for me that is, what is very common to me but not for a viewer. Hopefully my old English teacher will see this and give me better grades now then the ones I got in my schooltime, hehehehe

@p8urbyk5 No, it was not bad. Dutch ditch is similar and funny to say :).
"Try saying that, 5 times, fast", most people would say when they hear two similar words like that. Its a joke on the words, not your voice :)

I used to work for a company called Armstrong Medical.. they did business with a company called Medisize BV (in Hillegom). Back then I travelled the Holland for the first time (1999.. not work-related) and have been back a lot since. Dreamt as a 20yr old that I could get a job there.. lol, beautiful country..
Is Medisize still there?

@Fumeholesniffer As a Dutch I am sometimes also surprised how beautiful my country is. I Haven't been everywhere in The Netherlands and when I hit a new spot, well, I am a tourist as well. By the way, I love to cross the Northsea and see your country. Which is nice and has varied landscapes....

4:20 "this is the church where I,um, married in" In other words: "This is the church where I surrended my freedom" j/k mate! I know, I always do the same with my mates who just got married, but, soon or later, my turn will come! And I'll be very proud of joining the club! :)
It is very cool to see you having a great time with you little one and taking the right precaution of making sure he wear a helmet!
Can't wait to see your next vid with all those fields covered by flowe More..
