China's Zhujiang Smart Tower

The Zhujiang (meaning Pearl River in Chinese) Tower is a "green energy" building located in Guangzhou's new central business district. American architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill won the contract to design this smart skyscraper, which produces as much energy as it consumes. The Zhujiang Tower is featured with built-in solar panels, wind power generators, world's first cool radiator to replace A/C, double-glazed windows for insulation, and special ventilation system.

    • @golem and so they should.

when lobbyists, red tape, nimbys, self interest groups, planning permission and pointless legislation gets higher priority than innovation and national development, dont act surprised when america's best and brightest pack up and fly to china so that they can be given free reign to reach their full potential and get showered in cash in the process.
