Nice!!!! Friendly little guy as well. Most dogs in distress like that would be very defensive. Hope that little guy gets a new and happy home.

Yeah, they can tend to freak out on their rescuers. Always makes me nervous, but this guy was cool with it. Cool!

Yeah...I saw the whole clip where they fed him sausages and cookies! lol
They said that after all of the destruction they had seen and going days without rescuing anyone, even this act of saving the little dog was heartwarming to them.

If it was the Chinese Coast Guard, they would have just said "oh well" and kept on going.

LOve the Japanese culture so proud and strong these people are the true meaning of the word perseverance. Specially the 50 around the reactor that will more likely die from radiation in the fuckishima power plant..

Awesome story of survival 20 day round there, I love dogs and have to wonder if the dog ate human remains. Dogs can't fish unless one includes my dog, I wonder if my dog would eat me on a roof miles out in the sea for days?...

Would you do the same if the tables were turned?
Makes it a pretty messed up thought, I don't want to think about eating my own dog.

It breaks my heart to see dogs (other animals too) in distress. He was so happy to be saved, licking the rescuer. I hope he lives a long and happy life with a family who respect what he went through. This is my favourite vid for a long time on LL!

Thank the LORD those people are close enough to Him to remember that dogs are His as well.
Most people will think those Heroes are wasting their time...quite the contrary!
