Oregon Nat'l Guard Helicopter Rescues Stranded Kayakers
SALEM -- Four members of a Dallas, OR, family are safe after they went into the water while kayaking on the North Santiam River on Saturday.
Two were able to make it to shore, but the father and son were stranded on rocks in the middle of the river, with swift currents on either side.
They were plucked from the river by a Salem-based Oregon Army National Guard helicopter Saturday evening.

Around here, when the washes fill up after our monsoons, some of the drivers get caught up in rapids like these folks did.
Only difference is that the drivers 'round here have to foot the cost of the air rescue. We call it the Stupid Driver Law.
Glad everyone was OK.
