The idea that Jesus sacrificed himself to save us from hell is the most damning inconsistency of the Gospel, and yet it is seen as the whole point of his coming to earth at all. If god wanted to save humanity from damnation, all he would need to do is to NOT DAMN PEOPLE! He is the one who started the whole damning business in the first place.
