KRANKY Burns Down Kandos

We've seen plenty of burnouts end with a fire but we've never seen one start with a fire. Rodney Waters HQ sedan goes up in flames right from the start at Kandos. It's crazy insane.

As much as I love my cars, some of the people who work on the do not understand physics at all..... That being said, it is hard on your car if you run too big a tyre. There is so much grip on a burnout pad that they will test even the best built car. So a skinny tyre will usually give you an easier to control burnout. Plus with more weight per cubic centimetre on each tyre, a skinnier tyre will generate more heat and the tyre will pop before your motor does.....

    • @mcphuk It would also be a waste to destroy a set of racing slicks for something like this. The prize money for the contest is probably less than the cost of a nice pair of racing tires.

Yeah, you're right there, I think summernats pays $15,000 and like the local ones at the showgrounds pay from about $500-$1500 depending on who runs the event. If you build a wicked car though, some events will actually offer you a bonus just for turning up. Usually the top competitors will save a good set of tyres for the finals.
But racing slicks would just blister and fall apart anyways.... A hard compound sport tyre gives a nice long burnout n heaps of smoke.
