if your parked, wasted, put your keys outside your car, or at the very least take them the hell out of your ignition, i've been really drunk and knew i couldn't drive. so i threw my keys in the back of the bed of my truck
cops were nice, gave him a public intoxication instead of a dui

Often they'll look for those keys until they find them and then charge you with DUI anyways, best to roll over them with your car, they never think to look under the tires.

Unless you are driving a stick, how are you going to do that? You have to have the keys in the ignition to put the car in neutral, and then of course you would have to push the car over the keys even with the manual, but I drive a stick and will remember this trick!!

Ah, yes good point. For automatics I suggest keeping a magnetic hide-a-key box in the glove box, pop the keys in there and stick em in your wheel well until you're sober!

They could have given him a ride home. He wasn't arrested for drunk driving.He wasin his car, not in public.h ehad the senseto get off the road and into a parking lot of a church, and can argue he did it before hegotdrunk.
