  • Those damned assault vehicles with their high capacity gas tanks and automatic transmissions. We need car control and universal background checks before purchasing them. Do it for the children.

yeah it was too easy to get a driver's licence in the past and you'd think by now, they'd know how to drive on snow covered roads.

    • @BobbyJohnson It takes one jackass to cause a pileup. Its impossible to maintain proper spacing between vehicles on a busy highway no matter what. There is always a jackass that jumps in front of you if you are more than two car length away from a guy/gal in front of you.

I drive large pickup truck and generally leave a lot of space between me and the car in front, every fucking time idiots cut in and then jam on the breaks causing me to hit the breaks as well. I could never understand why. Its More..

Believe me, I know. Look at it from the point of view of someone that after figuring out how the accident happened and how avoidable in many cases it would have been, then having to tell the immediate family that a family member of theirs has died as a result.

There has to be a reason and I am just not bright enough to get it.

      Invented by Apple..
Soon you will be able to buy a vertical Apple TV - this will be the new standard for all TVs - and Apple will be able to decide what you can watch on it.

      Off topic:
They banned a danish newspapers iphone app - cause they have topless girls on Page 9.
They then made a special app for iPhone - without topless girls.
      Gimmi a freaking break!

People living in Ohio or neighboring states, how common is it to use winter tires during winter, you know when there is ice and snow on the road? How long do you use summer tires? Do most ever change? Year-around tires maybe?

In my country there is a law that mandates people to change winter tires for certain period of time (winter), to prevent shit likes this.

    • @urlug to answer your question I don't use winter tires..last year we only had about a foot of snow all winter...what happened here was it went from a light snow to blizzard conditions in minutes..if you look around you see that there wasn't much snow on the ground....oh i dont go on the freeways when it snows.....to many large trucks and 4x4 going way to fast....if i'm going to wreck i'd rather it be at 25mph instead of 55mph

  • Most of the comments in here are void of any kind of common sense. I live in Ohio..where this happened. Its called a snow squall. 90% of you morons need to look it up and see what that means. The road conditions were fine prior to the crash. What causes these crashes, is going from fine weather conditions, to almost zero visibility, in a matter of seconds. Educate yourselves,. yo.

That is a lot of tickets to write.

Failing to pay full time and attention.

Not driving to the conditions of the road.

    Failure to maintain safe distance.

Multiply that by 85, the state should be close to a balanced budget.....

Probably get a few headlight/tail light tickets just for giggles. Another 50+ seat belt violations, shit, we're in the black this year....

It has happened to me twice in my life. Something happens in front of me, I hit the brakes and avoid the accident and the asshole tailgating me rear ends me...

This is going to both of you. Since my flag is the Philippines, you assume I am asian, but you fail to realize that I am American, living in the Philippines.

As for the first guy, he is not able to read a joke. Of course not all the drivers are bad, but they will be at fault, even if they did stop. You never win when your vehicle hits another from behind. And in this instance, they will never figure out exactly what happened.

I was a firefighter and EMT in Fairfax, Virgina for More..

  • I live in Ohio and heard about this. From what I heard. The girl didn't even die from the crash.
But if you saw those wired in the beginning of the video, those are to stop out of control cars from going into the oncoming lane.
Anyway. from what I heard, the girl got out of the car and just standing then, then the wire snapped and killed the girl.

    Posted Jan-26-2013 By

  • Apparently she died in a somewhat freak circumstance:
"The 12-year-old girl had gotten out of a damaged vehicle and was standing in the median near a cable barrier, a type of fencing made of rope-like steel wire cables, the Hamilton County sheriff's office said. Another vehicle hit the barrier, snapping a cable, which then struck the girl and killed her, office spokesman Jim Knapp said."
