    • @Nunt Not really, they just copied American inventions. Durp.. look at all that, its ENTIRELY copies of American military which is now outdated. LOLOL. So no, we paid for it, but they still need our hunger to feed, and our brains to copy these clever inventions they make for us at a less-than-dirt (American dirt) cost....literally.

If CHina quit making our shit,we would get India to make it...... China is just the poorest and easiest to manipulate. America doesn't need China, China needs Americ More..

  • Those fighters must have a radar signature like a B-29. Wonder how much ordinance they can carry off the deck with that no-catapult takeoff scheme?

    • @Ally_Gator
Not much, mainly A-A missiles. And yes, with those canards, this fighter has a big RCS.

The Kuznetsov class was never intended to operate those big Su-33's, those were supposed to go to the stillborn, nuclear-powered, catapult-equipped Ulyanovsk (that was never finished before the USSR collapsed). The Kuznetsov class was supposed to get the smaller Mig-29K. It wasn't intended as a true aircraft carrier, but as a "heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser", with its own capacity to More..

    • @Abanamat85 Canards aren't the biggest issue. The JAS 39A/B Gripens had an RCS in clean configuration of about 0.1 square meters and every evolution of Gripen models (A/B -> C/D -> E/F) have had smaller and smaller radar cross signatures. The biggest problem with the early flankers (Su-27/33/30) is that they're massive fighter-jets with a sleek aerodynamic design and no real signature damping meassures.

    • @strictly_bzniz2005 they would conduct air strikes to take an aircraft carrier out so nothing really a sub can do in that instance buddy.

There are no dif. between the capabilities for landing, the arrestor gear is equally good for STOBAR or CATOBAR.

    • @dacian What yang you talkin" I'm a former grunt. The only thing I know about Aircraft Carriers is you got women on them.
Really, I do know. Big dif between what they can launch, but they do have a hook and it didn't rip off.

    • @grunt They only have about 60 years to catch up with our pilots experience. They won't have to worry about returning to the carrier because they will be shot out of the sky!

  • Translation:

    """
Officials were pleasantly surprised when the first carrier landing and takeoff operations did not result in damaged equipment or deaths of crew members.

The crew celebrated by turning on the Christmas lights throughout the ship.
    ...
    """

Seriously though, I'm not sure how the pilots felt flying aircraft painted in crash test dummy colors and with crash test markers.

    • @Middle of Nowhere

Excpet this is an ex russian warship and a still russian aircraft.

China's Aircraft carrier isn't anywhere near operational yet, nor the ~60 aircraft needed to equip it.

And the USA has 12 carriers. So no, not so much catch up, however if we were talking about GDP ....

    • @DriftWood Yes, it does. How long do you think it has taken the U.S. to get it's navy where it's at? It's not just having a ship or a fleet... it's having ports around the world where you can go refuel and resupply. An old Russian ship? really?? Trust me, china is 100 years behind the U.S. in that aspect.

    • @LoveLeak Yes, but the U.S. military keeps getting stronger with technology. We have shit now we probably won't need to use for years. He who controls the Ocean controls trade and controls the world. Either way, China's concern is their neighbors, not us militarily. Shit, we'd probably defend them if shit hit the fan.
