Even to the extent of super-ceding secular law i.e. The Constitution?

@ccfc
The Constitution actually protects religious organizations and people to be able to follow their own conscience.
You are a Brit and have no clue what the Constitution says.

Indeed I don't, so it's worth finding out. Over here the law of the land rules all - her contract of employment would have been illegal to begin with, which is also why scare stories like Sharia law coming here are complete rubbish.

@dakine is it not our inherent right as human fucking beings to act as we please? You do NOT need religion in order to have morals.

Supreme court already ruled on this type of case in January so she is just wasting her $ if she moves forward with suing them. As messed up as it is, the school is private/religious and has every right under the law to do what they did.

American Christian Taliban, amd like it or not, it IS a private school, NOT public. If you aren't willing to follow the rules of these hypocritical fascist douchebags then you shouldn't accept employment by them.
BEsides which, who, with any shred of intellectual integrity, would call themselves a Science Teacher at a place where Evolution is in question?
Methinks the lady dost protest too much!

The Academy's rules are on the books, she violated them.
What more is there to say.

Secular law trumps religious dogma every time. If it didn't, you'd have Sharia law too.

She violated her contract pure and simple. It's a private institution. Now if she wants to have her BLACK baby and then reapply at a public school than that's fine.

Meh. She's a gold digger. A private religious school should be able to lay down employment rules since the teachers are considered as being part of the ministry. Nothing unfair about that. That being said, if a guy was a teacher there and he got a woman pregnant, would HE have to resign?

Excellent spin she worked for a Christian school.
Were you aware that Christians have values too or have you been living under a rock?
