What they needed to do was find where the guy lives threaten his family while he it at work driving his truck....call him and tell him where to leave the truck.
When it is all clear and they have the truck they leave the family alone and move onto the next truck driver.
Noone gets hurt and everyone wins....
Thieves get the loot
The truck company makes a claim for insurance.
The driver loses his job and his wife has a mental break down from being raped.
Everyone wins.
