CIA to release documents detailing agency's worst abuses from 1950's to 1970's

A good gesture but the atrocities did not end in the 1970's... Google "Operation Condor" and "Dark Alliance" for more current information about this agency's abuses of power.

Bear in mind the documents being released are about events that are already public knowledge. They just give flesh to the bones of our American history.

  • I saw this earlier. I wonder how hard it's going to be to read once published and if they're being 100% truthful. I also wonder what the international community will have to say and how it will effect our support for the war on terror. For all I know it's going to make Abu Ghraib look like Disney World. Why now though? I mean really? Have international law statues of limitations made this release safe? Will anyone be able to be tried for the crimes? How will it change opinion of the US a More..
