ORLANDO, Fla.
A police chase through southern Orange County ended Wednesday afternoon.
A 15-year-old was driving the car that he allegedly stole from his mother's friend Tuesday night around midnight.
His parents reported the car stolen, and a helicopter has been chasing him for the past few hours.
The teenager drove erratically, running stop signs and lights, driving up on sidewalks and hitting other cars.
Police were almost ready to use stop sticks, but the teen suddenly jumped out near 3rd Street and Boyce Avenue and took off running through the neighborhood before he finally gave up.
The teenager's brother said he thinks he went berserk, jumped in the car without permission and took off.
