Helmet-cam captures dramatic bike crash

A helmet-mounted camera has captured the moment BMX star Cam Zink became separated from his bike on a 24m jump and landed feet first on a rocky surface.

The 26-year old American was competing in the Red Bull Rampage 2012 in Utah over the weekend when he overshot the landing ramp and crashed heavily to the ground.

Zink could be heard screaming "Oh my God! Oh my God!" as he flew through the air on the Canyon to Flat jump.

The BMX star posted footage of the dramatic crash on his Facebook page, asking his friends if they wanted to "see something gnarly?"

"With 5 knee surgeries, two broken feet and a having a rod in my tibia prior to this plane crash I guess I'm (sic) doin ok if this 80 foot bail to flat only bruised my heels," Zink wrote.

Zink's Facebook friends expressed shock and admiration in their comments with users saying "you're the man Zink" and "major respect bro".
