I sat in those same seats a few months ago at Space Center Houston. That control room isn't used now, the technology is ancient. But to sit there and touch the history of that place was quite amazing.
BTW, the super computing power available to the engineers there was 128K. It was faster for these engineers to make complex calculations using their slide rules than it was using the computer.
