The 1970 oil embargo was over our support of Israel. The hatred across the middle east for the USA is almost entirely because of our support of Israel. 9-11 and the war on terror is the price we our paying. Every American knows that support has been costly, so your point is wrong. We will never stop supporting Israel. Most recently we sold the Israel dozens of bunker buster bombs to be used as a last resort to smash the Iranian underground nuclear facilities. Google it and you'll see. America stands by her friends. We will never abandon Israel.
