I can assure you that what most people smell as they drive down the road in passing is nothing compared to being next to one if it sprays. It will induce vomiting quite easily.

@gonehuntin I was in a car that hit one late at night at about 70 mph. Even at that speed with the windows up, the smell was instantaneous and horrible. I can't imagine being in direct contact.

Skunks are very nice creatures actually. The only have a defensive weapon(the spray/smell) The generally eat grubs, bugs. However they will rip up your lawn for the short term. But in the long run they will de grub your lawn for free. The make great pets if you get them de scented
