  • Yeah, well, no attack... safe for the little attempt at nibbling on the divers leg @ 0:40 and another friendly reminder that at least one of them might be somewhat hungry/pissed off/curious @ 0:52... As much as I admire sharks, I don't think it's very smart to bait them and then rely on luck or weaponry to get some nice pictures and not get bitten.

They're all cool and smart now, but the moment one starts to bleed they'll be in far worse waters than little fairy boy with his wild squirrel.

    • @aintov agreed. the thing about sharks, is, well, they're fucking sharks aren't they.

      lots of teeth.

    • @aintov
Afaik its a behaviour of sharks to scratch or even bite a little on unknown objects to see if its eatable.
Their Skin is like sandpaper, without the neopren suits its enough when a shark just gives you a quick rub. Total suicidal imo

    • @illiath Aye. Imagine how things would have turned out if the little nibble @ 0:40 would have connected to that divers leg, blood spurting out and at least, what, half a dozen sharks only having joined the party for the rotten fish smell?

As for the sharkskin - I think the majority of 'hurt by sharksin' tales are myths and fabrications - however, shark skin was traditionally used as natural sandpaper by aboriginal folks, and I have a nice little sharkskin wasabi grater that works beautifully.

    • @7ShadesofSunday Even better: Sharks have mouths full of perpetually regrowing teeth, and even their skins are covered all over with little teeth.

  • That is insane. The big fellow is being just a bit too frisky for my nerves.

  • Looks to me like they were testing the "stand your ground law" in Florida. Not too smart with a tiger shark.
the big shark is a tiger shark. they have been baiting the sharks up and my money is on that box on the seabed is full of bait and hence the sharks circling.
video shows how quickly things could go tragically wrong. the diver that let the shark swim through his legs was not too smart. as soon as the divers fin/leg brushes the shark, its first instinct was to turn and bite. h More..

  • I have been diving with sharks for several years now, and I will tell you, diving with a Tiger shark is a disaster waiting to happen. Most sharks when curious will simply sniff or bump you then swim away. Tiger sharks when curious will bite, which can kill. You have maintain constant eye contact and watch them. Those smaller Reef sharks are not very dangerous unless provoked, and can learn to enjoy interacting with humans, but Tiger sharks are never tame.

  • If there was a prize for design, I'd give it to these sharks.

    • @khamomil

OK, but WHAT did the sharks design? I saw no artwork or structures at all down there...

OH, you're talking about the sharks themselves! Well then if we're talking DESIGN, we must be talking about some kind of intelligence capable of designing animals.

That would mean talking about God, and we certainly cannot have that, so the design must have been by random chance over trillions and quadrillions of years...

Evolution: Biggest farce ever until global warming came along.

  • all is missing is that one of these sharks to take a small bite out of these divers for the eating frenzy to start...and none of these divers would have made it back.
It would be smart to pack up an underwater automatic rifle just in case they needed to clear the waters...yes even though it would make more blood , it would give them time to retreat , and let the shark fight it off
