A Quebec provincial police officer can been seen riding on the hood of a cruiser traveling at low speed near Mont-Tremblant, 150 km northwest of Montreal.Pascal Ricard filmed the officer in June and voiced his outrage in an interview with QMI Agency on Wednesday."This summer, several videos were broadcast that denounce the new (car surfing) trend among some young people," Ricard said. "So I decided to share this video that shows a police officer who did the same thing."The car-surfing cop appeared to be taking video or photos, which would suggest he was reconstructing an accident. There had been a major collision between a car and a transport truck the previous day.But former accident-reconstruction expert Pierre Bellemare said riding on a car during such an investigation is inappropriate and dangerous.Provincial police said they're aware of the video are have launched an investigation.The same police force has issued warnings after car-surfing stunts went tragically wrong.In the past two years, three people died in Quebec while car surfing and one in West Kelowna, B.C.
