    • @chrisadamley It's not a "get out of jail free card." Sure, traffic violations are forgiven, and maybe even petty thefts, but I still think you have no idea what you are talking about.

      I've traveled and worked with other diplomats and FSOs for a long time, and can tell you that having diplomatic immunity is simply hyped up.

      Telling me that I should "look into the sh*t that diplomats get away with," is like telling a historian to read his own biography.

      There was a case i just read about in 1983 where the NYC police suspected a diplomats son of 15 different rapes, was never prosecuted. His father and him claimed diplomatic immunity and they were allowed to leave the country.

      It spans from rapes, assault, stealing...enormous parking tickets that are just forgiven. Like 800k worth in one instance.
