Another Gun Range Explosion (Blows Out in Face)

Catastrophic failure of a S&W M&P15 due to a squib load. Shooter was fine, but the gun not so much.

    • @Salt The commonly used drill is tap rack bang, which he did . This is used world wide in most military forces. I myself was taught to use it. I was also an armorer for a few years, and it is fine to use the method.

    • @marinemp00 If you are under fire yes. At a range hell no.
You can afford to be much more cautious.

  • Had this happen once with my Romanian SAR , AK variant. I had to take the gun to a gunsmith have the bullet removed from the barrel. Best thing to do in a case like (misfire)is remove mag allow 30 secs for any delay primer discharge and then carefully inspect firearm.

  • Wait. Did he have a tattoo of his rifle that just misfired and nearly erased his face?

  • Amazing that the guy was being filmed at the time. Very expensive mistake (about $1500). But the most important thing, is the dudes okay.

  • I've made some squibs myself when reloading. Only two, as far as I recall, among many thousands of rounds. Fortunately I knew what had happened both times and never made the mistake of firing into a blocked barrel. It's disturbing to consider the possible outcomes. One of my rifles has a bolt that could conceivably be propelled straight backwards...

    NOT a squib.

You can clearly see fire come from the muzzel so the round came out. I'd bet a hot reload caused this.

    • @castanza128
the stuff was imported by the container full back in the 90's until it was banned by import laws by Clinton.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norinco
It was very inexpensive.I bought up shitloads of the stuff for plinking. Mostly .223,9mm,45acp,.22 and 12 gauge in 6 and 7 shot for my dove hunting.I have a few thousand rounds left.

At the time, it was less then half the price of American or Yugoslavian ammo. I still see it at gun shows like the one I went to last month. The Boxes are More..

    • @Fire37Rescue lol norinco actually makes some decent ak type rifles.
      Never seen their ammo though.
I'll steer clear if I see it.
