Robbery Fail - Cashier Tell Robber 'No'

Fairview Heights police responded about 11:02 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald's at 6300 N. Illinois St.

Police were told that a man entered the restaurant and approached the counter as a customer, according to Fairview Heights Detective Tim Mueller.

The man entered the store about 10:45 p.m., right before closing time, said Fairview Heights Detective James Mason.

When an employee asked for the man's order, the man demanded the employee empty the cash drawer and give him the money, Mueller stated in a news release.

The man lifted his shirt up, and briefly pulled the gun from his waistband and put it back, Mason said.

The employee said no and called for a manager. The man ran away from the restaurant, Mueller stated.
