02-03-2011

By Nathan Burstein:

What was that bright white light that descended on Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock early last Friday? An alien spaceship? Proof of a “regional galactic governance council”? An Israeli drone? The Internet is still abuzz with speculation about the mysterious object, which separate video clips captured as it traveled downward toward the Dome of the Rock, paused, then rapidly shot back into the sky before dawn.

Hundreds of thousands have viewed the images on YouTube and elsewhere, offering theories about the light that range from the skeptical to the extraterrestrial. Read more: http://blogs.forward.com/the-shmooze/135190/#ixzz1CyMFhfdJ http://blogs.forward.com/the-shmooze/135190/

  • The shot taken from a couple hundred yards away from the actual dome at rooftop level is even more impressive.

    • 'Cept in the vid I mentioned the background audio has huge gaps in it. Meaning it was spliced together from many samples. It also resembles a pan and scan of a still image. I meant it was impressive from an editing perspective.

  • Israelis should be asking where their air-defense forces were.

  • Must be god or aliens ... yep ... couldn't be anything naturally occurring or man made.

    • lol...yes, but why would any military agency do this? As for naturally occurring, it wouldn't happen at this specific location.

    • LOL

Do what? Buddy, any guy with an RC chopper and a strobe light or fire cracker could do what I saw on my monitor.
And it is the Dome of the Rock, nut bars flock there thick as flies on a fresh turd.

    • I don't know of any helicopter which can ascend that quickly.

    • LOL

I'm not saying that's what it was, I AM saying there's many more plausible explanations than aliens or gods.

      Cheers.

    • agreed....I read about an incident very similar to this in a book about grunts in Vietnam. I'll try to find the exact book and passage. The short of it is that they were on patrol and witnessed a very bright light in a valley and it illuminated the whole alley as though it were daylight. Suddenly there was a flash and it shot skyward at an amazing rate of speed.

My guess is that it an electrically charged gaseous formation that sinks as it gains potential and then discharges and rises as it More..

  • Looks like a pretty good hoax. 2 cents that its a projected background,.exposure on the camera seems weird
