Lynchings of criminals has made Nicaragua into Central America's safest nation in just 2 years after it was second-place after El Salvador as the most criminally violent nation in the isthmus, but now human rights groups and police want to penalize vigilantes to curtail the abuse.
Lynchings are becoming common-place in Central America because of the high crime index, Central America is home to the most high-crime nations in the entire Americas.
