  • I have been saying recently that the reason the Republicans are so desperate to get the Presidency is that the Obama plan has worked and they want to be in position to claim they did it as the economy swings upward.   • It's true, new administrations always take credit for economic recoveries which take years to occur. If romney wins, he may fritter away the gains the way dubya did. There's a reason why dubya wasn't invited to the convention, or is missing in action, unlike clinton. I'm not hearing anything new from the republican camp, so I'm not inclined to support the policies of the past. I support other republican policies but not the economy.

    The end result of the financial crisis is: the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Just how much poorer the poor got depends on the extent of the monetary inflation Bernanke's money printing causes in the coming years, but I expect it will be horrendous.
