Be The Hero of Your Own Story

Joe Rogan never really mattered to me one way or the other. I had seen videos of his stand-up which was edgy and funny. I saw a clip of him getting into a fight on some reality show when some dude assaulted a woman. So he was OK in my book but I never really gave him a second thought. This however is some Joe Rogan worth promoting.

  • nice post - yeah Joe is right on in my book - he's not perfect as none of us are - but I think he follows a true path and tries to weed out any bullshit and keep it real, direct and honest. He thinks outside the box and is extremely intelligent... he's one of the people that inspires me to be the best version of myself I can be. Every day choose to learn, grow, and evolve.

    • @hershism I agree....and if you do that, you are doing well.
Nevermind your current circumstances. If you learn, and are better today than you were yesterday, you are a success.

  • Sounds like Joe has remorse for some shitty things he did to himself and others in his life. Despite that he can still be his own hero because he's repented for those bad old ways. Okey dokey then, good on him.

    • @Rikki_Tikki_Tavi Maybe true... but I think the point he was trying to make is that there are a lot of people out there who just can't get over their failures and it keeps them from succeeding - it's like a cancer of the mind... but we CAN choose to be a better version from now forward and don't be trapped into thinking you're not worthy. :)

There is something in his talk here that reeks but I agree with his overall sentiment of people improving themselves, so I'm not going to go into it. I don't want to be a stick in the mud.

You hit on it much better than he did actually. Without being so self centered about it. Thumbs up for that. Maybe you should do a podcast.

  • I was taught this as a young child. My dad told me thay whatever I did I was responsiable for. "You are in charge of you, nobody forces you to act, you make the decision and it is yours" is how he put it. You have to look at yourself in the mirror every morning so don't do anything that makes it hard to look at yourself.

    • @heynow Sports commentator for the UFC (the best according to many), television host for Fear factor and The Man Show. He is also a stand-up comedian and has a own popular podcast called The Joe Rogan Experience (from where the above recording is taken).

But I guess he is most known for his acting in the sitcom NewsRadio.

  • Hey Gregsto, Changing things up a bit I see!?

You turning over a new leaf? I certainly applaud THAT!

I see You've eschewed your standard anti-Religion, anti-God, anti-Right kerfuffle for a video of a couple stoners sitting around talking about "being decent" of all things! That's not like you at all!

All this talk of morality and heroes?

Meh' You should stick to what you -know- and just continue to play the kook-farted Pope-hater. -And don't try to be 'decent' -it's just too cont More..

    • @picked Your contribution to the conversation is a valuable as it always is.

So anyone who is anti-religion, anti-god, anti-right wing and has no respect for the pope is someone who would not be in character having a conversation about morality, decency and 'heroes'? Or somehow they would have no valid opinion on those issues because they are judged, by you, to lack the qualities necessary to speak relevantly on the subjects.

Ho hum. Thanks for stopping by. We are all better for it.
