  • Only 9/11 troothers would be dumb enough to fall for a Nigerian scam. It's hard to believe anyone could be that stupid.

And why not arrest them? Tomorrow they're doing the same thing again.

  • I got an email from a guy wanting to buy a moped I have for sale online, he said he was from England. He used a Gmail addy. Told me he was a collector and had a broker that would pick it up and sign all papers. Then at the end of the email he asked for my paypal addy.

To make a long story short, after a few back and forth emails I got a bad feeling as he refused to send a bank draft (claimed he had been burned before) and once again requested my paypal addy. At that point I cut him off.

    Its an More..

    • @ChumCannon Always trust your instincts. The scam I was almost involved in gets elaborate, they use Western Union and PayPal. A computer tech guy traced back all the stuff and went to both WU and PP with the scam info and all he received was an auto reply stating that they were thankful for the info and would take care of it. Needless to say they did NOTHING! He even contacted the Nigerian government and they said that up to 100,000 people share the same IP address out there and tracing it would More..

    • @illegal_smile Absolutely, when I deal with sites like craigslist, if they start trying weave an elaborate web of payments that go beyond simply showing up with money and leaving with the item, I don't bother.

  • No arrest? These reporters just wanted a story, they did no good to the public whatsoever.
The scammers were probably back at it within minutes.
