@Skinnydaddy Yeah, not sure that Gun Dish radar is very useful against ground targets anyway. That fucker sets the standard for time unmasked for our helicopter operations. No more than 9-10 exposed. They can aquire and start putting 23 mm downrange in about that time.

@999YDStare Funny thing is they did not pull the radar off some those till Afghanistan and they increased the ammo it held from 2k to 4k. It was one of the few armored vehicles they had that could at steep angles. Good for the mountains and valley areas of Afghanistan.

Seeing a Shilka I would expect them fighting against aircraft, but it's the Syrian government army, wtf?
Also, on an unrelated note, I learned from playing OFP that a single RPG7 or LAW round can take them (Shilkas or BMPs) out, is it true or false?

they should patrol the area from the sky. i suspect that Syrian Air force have never purchased before the conflict any attack helicopter of Ka or the Mi variety.
the heavy armor, agility, great fire power, guidance systems, and optical systems is granteed to give them the upper hand. Moscow should ship few of those of these choppers to Syria, if the turks and Saudis insist on supporting and harboring terrorists groups.
