Raptors feeding in my neighbour's garden
Kites feeding. It took years to win the animals' trust. They still spend about half an hour circling and watching before they decide to swoop down and feed. Quite frightening at close quarters!

Magnificent! I adore these and most birds, I can only dream of the freedom they have in flight.
I hear the kite, through breeding programs, is making a strong recovery in the United Kingdom. That's great news indeed.

@Geek agreed.the first lot of chicks to be reintroduced to scotland came from switzerland as it happens.there are loads of them now because they are a protected species.there is a kite feeding station about 45 mins drive from where i stay.it is some sight watching them coming down to feed.there is always one that goes first before the others join in.we call that one the "fire-in".lol

No velociraptors were seen in this film. I am disappointed and I feel like I have been led astray. This makes me sad.

Nice video. I normally don't like music added to nature videos, but it works with this one.

Interesting to note: this is also how rednecks descend on a bucket of KFC.

The Kites in my area are white and black and have a split tail. Quite beautiful bird and a special site. I didn't know there were other types.

My guess is that they dont have enough yard to take back off, so they dont land and "swoop" for the food.

Interesting. Once NZ falcons have picked up/caught food they'll usually sit on the ground or nearest tree to eat it. Filming these sorts of critters in slow motion on a telephoto lense sharpens your camera skills up!
