it looked dinky to me but the proof is in the pudding.
even where i'm from - weather, salted roads - some of the old toyota trucks had hundreds of thousands of miles on them while chevy trucks died a much younger death.
used to a car with 70,000 mi on it was considered done. but toyota kind of raised the ceiling for longevity.
