Retro TV Hill Street Blues

This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made exclusively for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at

http://www.liveleak.com/c/Retro_TV_

Always get this little bit of excitement when I see those doors go up and the theme starts. A classic timeless series. I bet you envy me because I've only seen the first season and the shows getting better and better. Here is to the bliss of anticipation.

I'm sure I don't have to point out yet again that this is another great theme from THE TV theme master himself, Mike Post. I don't know why you don't listen to me, the guy was a genius.

Yes the theme to Blues is in there. I should know, I made the video. The cartoon snippit is part of a loose knit formula for the video series, on occasion it will include those.

The motif of the retro video series is switching between channels. This is done in order to introduce a variety of material but at the same time keeping it to a simple familiar format and presentation. The TV show theme is the anchor for the material to a specific time period, but not necessarily a partic More..

  • What an amazing show and incredible theme song. I remember a Thursday night lineup waaaaayyyy back: Cheers, Night Court, Fame, Hill Street Blues. Everyone I know was glued to the TV that whole night.

  • Why this particular cartoon snippet? I don't know, that noise the wolf is making. Funny as hell. "Nang nang nang!" WTF?! lol. Writers of that show were demented.

Almost forgot, the last commercial. Yes! A young Courtney Cox. I thought that commercial was weird because it's for Tampax that you... ahem, insert. So the reason it takes place in a locker room is that you can see her dressed up in that leotard. So the commercial is basically you looking to see that her camel toe looks norm More..

Sorry you posted this a week ago. I'm just going back to check on the uploads and thought your comment was cool.

I have Magnum, will be posting it at some point. Was an awesome theme. Both themes were written by the same guy, Mike Post. One of my all time favorite TV theme composers. He also did Hardcastle and McCormick, The A team and many other famous titles with Pete Carpenter.
      Glad you're enjoying em!
