  • Classic film, Werner Herzog is a mad genius and a dying breed...the Brazilian Indians literally wanted to murder Kinski during the filming

My understanding is that their approach to conflict was the exact opposite of this, and that they were very upset by the whole event.

      Producer fail perhaps?

    • @ommadawn They thought he was evil (with good reason), there's a scene in the film where they crowd round behind him armed...Herzog claims they actually wanted to finish it then, and he does look terrified

  • thank you for all the attention about Kinski
it`s true that after this scene the indians made the director "herzog" the offer to kill Kinski in the jungle.. this offer was serious & true!

here Kinski married Minhoi, his beautiful wife from Vietnam , he made again trouble, because he not wanted to wait to be alone with her, no wonder :D

  • Kinski/Herzog ..I ain't verbose enough to say how I really feel about these two. Werner Herzog is a genius, Kinski seemed to be a troubled soul.. 'All time top 5' actors, as far as I'm concerned. I watched this 'Evening with...' just 2 days ago -

If you happen to be only slightly familiar with W.Herzog, or if you love film and haven't seen Nosferatu [1979], or Aguirre, Wrath of God... then you best get clicking*

  • This was his usual behavior on a film set.
He was a wold class asshole and was generally despised by the crew.

I've been in this situation a couple of times.

      They call it "creative differences".

I'm not in the pro business, but have experenced being somehow sucked into "lovey dovey" mode when on set, and in pre-production, serious arguments are sometimes had.

      All part of the business.

But if you lose it on set like this, you have a major problem.

It's unprofessional, wastes time, money, moral and energy.

I once had feedback from a female talent who said "How did More..

  • This movie would have been so much better with Jason Robards. Too bad about that. Mick Jagger might have been fun, too--they wrote out his part when time ran long and he had to go tour.

The film itself is long, but gets a pretty high rating.
