On september 2, 2008, a woman asked two men for a cigarette. This was the beginning of some verbal assaults between two guys and the women with her boyfriend. Later one of those guys (Michael B., 25) kicked Daniel M. (boyfriend). Suddenly the other drugged and drunken guy Ronny B (29) got an ten kilogramm steel-sledgehammer and attacked the victim Daniel M. .
penalty:
Michael G. - 1 year 3 months probation, 500 € injury award, 100 hours to work for non-profit interests, pluspoint for him was that he stopped his friend Ronny, so he "only" hit the side of the victims body with the hammer instead of his head
Ronny B. - 6 years in jail, drug withdrawal

I've heard about this trend in self defense. Packing a sledge hammer has several advantages over a pistol. No concealed weapon permit required. Unlimited striking power. Sure, it'a little heavy, but at least it won't jam when you need it.

German cops sure get to the scene quickly. If that had been the UK they'd have taken fkn ages, risk assessment first, then maybe 12 cars and a van turn up, and none of them wants to make the first move until the dog unit arrives.
