They can move together in swarms, build towers, dance, throw and catch,
assess targets and soon will even make their own decisions. Both in war
and at home, drones are developing fast and gaining control.

  • Leave it to the ACLU idiots to find something bad about killing terrorists that want to wipe America off the map.

  • It is concerning that there will be a very highly armed, completely remote UAV fleet deployed. Lightly armed for surveillance in border scenarios, etc. I think makes sense, but a 500lb explosive anything takes a big step over the line of the Posse Comitaus Act, Imo.

The bottom line is that the system is hackable, has been hacked before. It will be the 1st time in history that criminal hack community would have access to a physical force that could offer tremendous destruction.
    Could make Fight More..

  • I think this is great. A leap towards the future...imagine if we had drones patrolling DC/New york/Pennsylvania the day of 9/11. Might have been a different outcome

  • i'm amazed more and more at the increasingly liberal outlook of the dutch. With everything that they have going on turning their own country to shit, they still judge others constantly.

won't be long till the minarettes start going up on the street corners replacing the windmills quiet whooshing noises to call to prayer.

oh, and cows don't Boo, they Moo

  • not a fan of Drones over the US.
(But then again, I'm not a fan of other Spy-planes over the US)

But I'm not sure what the hubbub is all about. So they moved the pilot outta the plane? big deal.. I mean, its the same mission (fight a war), the same platform (a plane), and the same weapons (bombs/rockets).

The pilot just sits in a different place.

Its really not that tough to get your mind around.

    • @wharris I mean, shit, they've been doing this in manned F-16 and F-15 fighters forever. So it's suddenly bad if a drone does it? lol.

    • @Yedin
These worries only make sense to me if one suspects that these remotely piloted airplanes are not really remotely piloted.

    • @wharris You mean a true drone? That's still a few years away. The Navy will probably have the first of those.

      Yep,
Wake me when we start letting computer programs decide who gets killed.

Otherwise, these planes do not represent any change.
