@squint I used to work for DHL at Mather AFB as a truck and plane loader/unloader. 5 hours a day, 5 days a week for minimum wage. Shit job full of ex-convicts - that's why everyone is so mad.

@stainwallah I've dropped stuff in my days, by accident. It happens. Thousands of boxes pass through my hands each year. Butterfingers occasionally comes about. Chucking parcels around, on the other hand, is a bit different.

@dmarlow310 i dont know about fired, but salary docked the cost of the item. I agree with you that the package was probably not damaged that much, LEDs are quite resiliant, perhaps the actual material the lgihts were attached to broke. i agree with you that package deliver-ers should show professionalism and respect for the job, and not damage packages. no one is holding a gun to his head making him be a delivery man, he can do whatever he wants with his life, there are no real dead ends when More..

@Kitten_Mittens Maybe throwing the package itself wasnt enough to deserve firing, but there are plenty of unemployed people who would love a chance for a good job. If I'm an employer, i would fire him just because i know finding another more grateful person would be easy.

That's a normal package toss. When you package a product for UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc - you have to package it assuming it will be thrown, dropped, kicked, etc, multiple times before arriving at it's destination. That package got thrown around a lot more violently than that during the distribution phase.

I worked for UPS as a loader and its a fast paced environment where boxes are being thrown around all day long. if you don't want damage...be smart about how you package your stuff folks.
