  • I agree with you on the mountain lion issue. Why kill them if you can't eat them?

Those noisy-assed rafters sort of pissed me off. I'd find another spot to hang, Bro. Good to see you again.

  • Damn good/funny commentary JR.

    Looks like a great spot.
I dig the woods too ... always did. I moved into this house & rediscovered how much I dig them shits.

I don't fish tho ... but the option is wide ass open.

    Good to see ye !

    • @Smudgen Thanks bro. It was a real nice spot but the fishing was tricky. Lots of brush I kept getting caught up in. Overall it was a nice day drinking beers and shooting the shit. Fishing is one of those activities for me where I don't even have to be catching anything, just to be out there taking in all of nature's beauty is really a great time.

    • @Smudgen Absolutely. There's no better place to get your mind right than in the woods.

    • @piruly I think I see what you're getting at. There are definitely cougars out there who want to be eaten, and I'd say go for it as long as it's not old Mary Jane rotten crotch.

  • I've been out fishing with my husband and some friends a couple of times this summer. And I agree with you about the mountain lions and bears. I've seen more wildlife than you can shake a stick at (haha) on our trips over the years. Great yoursay, and funny as always, JR.

  • Beautiful area. Got family in Placerville, Folsom & Orangevale and I love going up there.

Nice choice of brew too; almost always have that in the fridge. Love their Torpedo!

    • @RickBond Small world Rick. I've got family in a little town called Meadow Vista. There's also Auburn, Roseville, Grass Valley. Great places to escape the big city with Lake Tahoe only a stones throw away.

I've had the Torpedo but with 6.9% alcohol, I'm afraid this YS would have been an incoherent cluster fuck had I been throwing those down.

      Good talk, Rick.

  • Have you ever wondered that there might be a sleuth of bears hiding in the bushes and going, "hey, come here. Look at this dude, he's all alone and he's talking to himself in the middle of fuckin' nowhere. Should we eat him? Nah man, I ain't goin' nowhere near that mad som'bitch!"

I was hoping for a mountain lion to show up and scare the crap outta you.. :)))

    • @figatomek I don't sweat mountain lions at all. I've had a few confrontations with them and I'm a firm believer that some of us humans could take a mountain lion in a fight to the death. You just gotta protect your neck. Don't get me wrong, if a mountain lion jumps me, I'm gonna get fucked up. But in the end, I would not let one of those pussy cats take me out the game. If I get side control, that cat is in a world of trouble. If I can get him in a rear naked choke, it's all over. I'd have a bet More..

    • @ARNOLD-R-LANE We got this little watering hole out here where I live called "Steamies". Tuesday nights. The cougars are everywhere. Last call is at around 1:30am, by that time all the good ones are taken but there's a few burly swamp hogs in there that are just asking for it.

  • Nice Stressman, your still the big cat on LL brother, good to see you alive and kicking ;)

I'm with you about the woods, love em, you could never get me to live in a city, fuck all that noise, and the Ocean? No thanks, I like to at least have a chance peek at what's gonna sneak up and eat me, in the ocean, your the worm.

    Peace and love my brother

    • @dad61 Well, I think we both swing a pretty big stick my man (no pun intended). "In the ocean, you're the worm."- Dad61

Truer words have never been spoken.

Riptides, jelly fishes, great white sharks, salt water...

I want no part of that.

Thanks for checkin' D. Good to hear from you.

    • @hotjobz Thanks man. I thought I was gonna limit out when I showed up, there was a real nice sand bar with this deep pool where the river kinda slowed down. Little did I know there was so much brush under there. I was constantly changing my line.

I've been meaning to make a fishing video for awhile now.

      Posted Aug-6-2012 By

      (2) | Report

    • @The_Stressman Yea i was kinda suprised to see nature in the back ground. lol Your description of that pool sounded like a honey hole to me. Sometimes that sunken river brush can be a real pain, and thats usually where they like to hide. But anyways, it was cool to see ya out in the wild for a change. Your getting subbed here and good like with the fishing!

  • I have thought about it as well. Some people are forest people, some others are like, ocean people. The sea is not my element. I figure sea people imagine a tropical place with clear blue water and happy dolphins. I imagine black water with ugly fish, and gray, slimy creatues with barnacles on them. An uncaring place where humans die without fail. But the forest feels like home. You can live there. Well, as long as you get used to the mosquitos.

    Posted Aug-5-2012 By

    (1) | Report

    • @wellybub Well said. And great point about the mosquitoes. I failed to mention them in the video. That's the draw back. Depending on where you are, if you forget to bring a can of "OFF", them mosquitoes can ruin your day.

I'm not much for the beach either. I don't trust the ocean, I don't go in it, I don't even put my feet in the water.

    • @SharkGuy I can assure you this one was filmed on location at the historic Truckee River. I wish my back yard looked like that. If I filmed anything in the back yard where I live it would look like an episode of COPS. ;)

    • @anglosaxonwarlord No luck on that day my friend. Just some fire wood. I think what happens is when you're fishing in heavy brush and a fast current, I gotta be more patient. Let the worm stay down there and even if it hooks a big branch or something, let the fish be the one who unsnags you.

      Next time, for sure.
