He is. Already lost his job and will be sentenced in 4 to 6 weeks after pleading guilty to improper handling of a firearm and vandalism.

Both of which are misdemeanors for which he will receive a deferred sentence(A deferred sentence refers to a postponed, or delayed sentence in a criminal matter. In a deferred sentence, the court gives a defendant an opportunity to complete a probationary period before sentencing. If the defendant successfully completes probation ((usually not longer than 2 years)), at the conclusion of the probationary period the court will review the defendant’s file and may dismiss the charge More..

Ya, help him out like the system does everyone else - a nice helpful 5 year prison sentence to get him back on his feet.

Unfortunately for whomever is his future victim, this guy will never see the inside of a prison.
These guys always get deferred sentences, which allow them to have no felony record, and therefore will be rehired by another law enforcement agency.
      A recent study (sept/oct 2011)
revealed that 13% of the law enforcement members in the state of Florida have been awarded this type of sentence (even for trafficking narcotics) and ARE STILL on the job.

I don't know if I agree with you. The fact that he already lost his job implies to me that they're not taking this very lightly. But I would defintely like to know what the final outcome of the case will be.

In law enforcement, promotion is a way to deal with problem officers. What are they going to do, admit they hired a bad apple? Lol, No. That would look bad for the department. Promote him and reassign him somewhere where he can have the least impact.

  • Fact; this kind of shit happens more often that most know. Cops are a bunch of drama queens.

I was working the medic shift one evening and we were dispatched on a medical call. As we were approaching the edge of town, we encountered a massive traffic jam, which made no sense since the population of the town was about 9k. We called dispatch to announce there was a traffic jam and a delay, whereupon they called "any officer in the area" to figure out what was going on. Over the radio, w More..

  • He obviously thought he would not be questioned..but when you say an officer has been shot at..they break out the slide rules and do the math. Not too swift.
