  • I dont know why the poor guy is putting himself through this. Go hold your family. The media doesnt care they are just using you.

    • @AUSTINSLACKER He clearly doesn't give a crap what the media thinks. He is letting the world know who is daughter was. I would do the same thing for one of my children, except I don't know if I would have the courage to do what he did. Most importantly, he showed compassion and love toward the family of the shooter, which takes more of a man than probably 90% of the men in this world. So, screw the media, who cares what they think. This was n't for them!!

      Yes. Merdia at their best...
The pain of this poor man is unbearable. Hope he'll heal his wounds one day.

    • @Sorry for my french

This guy clearly has a message to send. He's taking the opportunity to use the media to spread it. I could have done without the god and heavenly part but deep down he's got a point when he says to not hate the family of the shooter but to love. Hate doesn't bring much good.

He wants it to be about the victims, instead of senslessly promoting the violence that did happen and spreading the name of whoever did this.

And I'm not just using his name to not spread it, I honestly don't know. I'd like to imagine a world where someone who does this ISN'T given more news time than the families and the people who suffered through it.

  • Anything happens in my life and i tell the media to fuck off. Have done it in the past.

Even if i had say won that huge lottery i wouldn't give 1 fuckin interview to them. Reporters are scum, remember that.

I own a small business and the local news wanted to put me on air because my expertise pertained to a local story. They were shocked when I told them to pound sand. They said,"but you will get free publicity on T.V." I told them I pay for my advertisements and I don't feel the need to furnish them with free footage that only suited their needs.

    • @the wedge You should've taken the opportunity to be on the news, and tell them to go fuck themselves live on air.

You may just gain some free business and still get to tell the media where to go...

    • @crik
That is the problem. They will edit the footage to suit their needs and possibly make me look like an ass. They do this for soundbites that get them ratings. I wouldn't go on t.v. without a contract.

  • God I wish they wouldn't do this. These people are in no state of mind to decide if they want to do press conferences and be on TV and crap.

    • @Intellectual It is sad that media contact the family of victims so soon after an event.

But much respect for the man standing there and giving such an incredible eulogy for his child so soon after their tragic loss.

  • I COULD NOT DO what this guy did here if my daughter had been gunned down like that. There's no fucking way.

Kudos to this dude, and R.I.P. to Em'.

    Fuckin' shit.

  • I'm so glad that he gave his condolences to the shooters family. It must be horrible for them as well, but the media and other's are giving them a really hard time. There was probably nothing they could have done to prevent this from happening. What a hero this guy is.

I couldn't help to notice how he talked about his daughter as if she is still alive ("Emily is..." etc). That is probably the saddest part, it must be incredibly difficult for them to understand that she is really gone. More..

  • I wish I would have half the integrity, morals and forgiveness this man appears to have, I wish he, his family and indeed all those affected my condolences and best wishes, I cannot fathom what the loss of a child would do to a person mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

  • I was moved to tears hearing this brave man speak about his little girl. It takes a lot of courage to come on national television a day after you're girl was murdered in cold blood and speak about her life for everyone to know. I feel this man's pain on a whole different level than anything i have ever seen before.

  • It's awesome how he was able to focus on love and compassion for others, especially the shooter's family. What a great guy.

  • I think it's pretty gross that the media parades this kind of shit like a circus. Obviously this guy is reaching out through the media, so fine by him, but all these pictures of people crying and family interviews and all that shit is absolutely disgusting to me. Absolutely disgusting. This isn't a fucking side show for the entertainment of the world. It's a fucking tragedy.

    • @ibuprofen
School shootings are one of those things where I don't care too much about the details. Losing a child is one of the hardest things a parent can go through. This is a strong selfless man. But the media should piss off and let these families grieve. It's going to be a sad christmas for too many this year.
