Hubby is a Heavy Wheeled Mechanic. I've never been all that clear about units or anything, but I do know that his unit was divided up and some went to Kandahar (husband is elsewhere). But its super nice to be able to see exactly it is that he does. All I know is he works 16+ hour days and only gets a day off every 10 tens. Oh and he's also on his third tour. So I concur sir, I concur.

Maybe you don't really get what they do. They do a lot more than a "car mechanic" would. I can assure you that. Source you ask? Why how nice of you, oh I don't know, maybe because my husband is a HEAVY WHEELED MECHANIC. 16+ hours a day, on top of one day off every 10 days for 8 months straight, in 100 degree+ weather on top of missing your friends and family and missing out on just about everything in this god forsaken world. Yep, that sounds like something a car mechanic woul More..

    • @rachelle351 16 hours a day? that may be a slight exaggeration. I chopped cars up for a few weeks straight, and it gets outright dangerous when you are working 10+ hours.

lol slight exaggeration i wish. they have to pull 24 hour staff duty when not on deployment. 16 hours is NOTHING. Obviously, you know what its like to be deployed. thanks for the laugh anyways.
