    • @hotjobz Not kidding - google the differences between Cow meat and Bison - it's day and night for you and your family. Buffalogal.com ships straight away to your home. Place a $400 order and you may never go back to beef! Their breakfast link sausages run rings around anything I've ever had. I order $100 worth at a time many times during the year. Either way, eating meat requires the commodification of what is intuitively to many not a commodity if it was not for the radical dissociation created More..

I have had Bison years ago and I agree it is a much better beef taste and health wise. The only thing is the price difference. I wish I could find a cheaper route or buy off the hook somewhere near me. I have only had Bison burgers, what are the Ribeyes or Newyork Strips like?

    • @Fire37Rescue I've placed dozens of orders with Buffalogal.com - I would recommend that you skip the strips and rib eyes go directly for the loin. It's pricey but this is what I do... 1. Let it partially thaw in the fridge. I set my timer for 7 hours. At the 7 hour mark you can remove the loin from it's plastic wrapper and using a scale I cut mine into 5 oz. medallions, wrap them individually in aluminum foil twice and then put as many that will fit into giant ziplock bags. 2. I label and date t More..

  • Might be a silent video but it screamed SAVORY.
What was that crock pot spice pack you used? So you did not fill the crock pot with any liquids just the sauce/spice pack? Interesting. Is that the gravy as well? How did you cook/prepare the mushrooms? Would have loved to see how moist the meat was...friggen tease! lol

    • @Fire37Rescue I steamed the shrooms with the rice.

    • @Fire37Rescue Pause the vid where i show the seasoning packet. It shows the brand name. It is for beef. The gravy i just used the left over juices from the crock pot, no flour. The mushrooms i just added to the wild rice during the last 15 minutes of steaming. Soak the rice over night if you don't want to spend the extra time steaming. Follow the directions on the link above for the rice. other wise its all about waiting for the kernals to open up.

    • @hotjobz same here... seems like summer has flown by. I like fall but winter is not fun. Good for cooking in the crock pot thou.. I really like yours. I have a Walmart special but may upgrade this year. What brand is yours?

    • @kmmouse Mine is a GE and got it at walmart. This is about the 4th one i have owned. The reason i picked this one is because it is a aluminum pot that has a non stick surface. Way easier to clean than the other kind. Its well worth the $30 or whatever i payed for it.

    • @hotjobz mine is an off brand, its super small... I'll check out the GE ones. I like the stainless steal outside.

  • I like to consider myself part of the crockpot nation(still working on the gang sign)there is nothing you can mess up with a CP...throw a bunch of stuff in,set it on low and 8-10 hours it's going to be good.Never grilled the meat first though, guess it cuts down the cooking time since you went for 6 hours instead of 8-10 on low.Ya know what ain't bad?I noticed you used a package of CP! seasoning so you like shortcuts, cus that's what a proper CP! person does...try a pack of brown gravy mix and a p More..

    • @fils290 Yea onion soup is what i have used in the past. It is a good flavor! I am trying different seasonings now and there is some good ones out there. This one seemed to be good and i will use it again, but i will try new stuff that i haven't tried before.

      Posted Sep-9-2012 By

    • @fils290 The reason i put it on the grill was just to give it charred flavor before i put it in the pot. It was far from being cooked. It probably took off a hour from the crock pot. The seasoning packet called for a 8 hour crock pot time, and i did it in 6 hours or so.
