Baroness Tonge appeared, alongside former United States Marine Kenneth O'Keefe, at an Israeli Apartheid Week talk at Middlesex University on 23 February 2012, during which she said: "Beware Israel. Israel is not going to be there forever in its present form. One day, the United States of America will get sick of giving 70 billion a year to Israel to support what I call America's aircraft carrier in the Middle East – that is Israel. One day, the American people are going to say to the Israel lobby in the USA: enough is enough. Israel will lose support and then they will reap what they have sown'.

Baroness Tonge is a crossbench peer in the House of Lords.
Jenny Tonge served as the MP for Richmond Park between 1997 and 2005, but stood down to care for her two grandchildren after her daughter was electrocuted in 2004.
The seat is now represented by billionaire's son Zac Goldsmith.
