AYN RAND PREDICTS OBAMAS END TO THE REPUBLIC

Born and educated in Russia, Rand moved to the United States in 1926. She worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood and had a play produced on Broadway in 1935–1936. After two initially unsuccessful early novels, she achieved fame with her 1943 novel The Fountainhead. In 1957, she published her best-known work, the philosophical novel Atlas Shrugged. Afterward she turned to nonfiction to promote her philosophy, publishing her own magazines and releasing several collections of essays until her death in 1982.

    • @Blue3tar c'mon, if you think the tea party is more about fiscal conservatism than being the party of evangelical right christian wingnuts then you are deluding yourself.

Ayn Rand objected to it, but her consultant convinced her that she had no choice, so she reluctantly accepted her fate.

It wasn't like she was a cradle to grave lazy ass American choosing to live off of the government by robbing other taxpayers who work for their money - and then spreading the disease by having 20 more children who live off of the government.
Big difference and not the same.

  • She had personal reasons to hate Russia's communist state but she didn't live long enough to see socialism work so well in Europe. She would be shocked to see how democracy in Washington has ground to a halt due primarily to corporate interference in politics.

  • I posted this interview with Ayn because I thought is was informative. It was not posted to make a point or to make a statement , nope. I like some of her view’s and artistic writings, and I think she nails it in the interview. She was not perfect and she was born a communist , and I believe she still held on to some of that idealism deep seeded in her heart.

Some of you guy’s are pretty sharp on here and can hold a good debate. I learn from a few of you and was hoping to stir a little c More..

  • Mrs.Rand is not perfect but the intelligence displayed in her magnum opus; Atlas Shrugged is incredible. Probably the most influential book in my life.

  • A right-wing, paranoid hypocrite who accepted money from the same system she said she despised, Ayn Rand created a "cult" of followers who basically had to agree that everything she said or wrote was a decree from God, and infallible. Her books are sophmoric; her characters wooden, and the reason they were a thousand pages long was that she was a long-time dexedrine addict!

    • @Jottritter Anyone who understood the message Rand was trying to convey would not see her or anyone else as being infallible. Individualists are not really the "cult" type, that is more so for the collectivists of the world who yearn for a leader or a king. I am not sure how you figure she was a hypocrite for taking money from a system she was forced to pay into.

  • Using her words to make your point is a fuckin joke. You clearly have no clue what Ayn Rand's philosophies are all about.

  • First this is just her opinion. She is not necessarily correct. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

This is not just Obama. Both party's have been playing this game since the Great Depression.

However, I do agree that both parties have helped to create a welfare state in which way too many people think they are entitled to a free-ride. The party's have done this to garner votes. We need to get back to a time when only those who work get paid. There are no doubt huge numbers of peopl More..

    • @Archimag I think the full blown dictatorship is only a few years away. But a lot of her philosophy is already true in regards to corporations having pull on government decisions. Right now it's who is being appointed to certain positions. We're seeing high up government officials that have a great deal of influence being 'supported' (bought) via 'campaign contributions' (which today is the legal way to buy influence, as well as 'foreign aid'). When influence is bought people tend to turn the ot More..

"...when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you–when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice–you may know that your society is doomed"

  • “Two novels can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves orcs.”

Don't know who said it, but I love it.

  • Ian Rand is not someone you should be getting your ideology from children, she's a narcissist of the tenth order, a pure nutter, created from communist Russia which by no fault of her own would have driven anyone crazy.
