Kabul (BNA) Seven armed insurgents killed and ten others arrested during the joint mopping up operations of police forces.

The press office of Interior Ministry told this news agency, police
forces for cleaning up the areas from presence of terrorists and enemies
of the country, peace and security carried out six operations within
the last 24 hours in Kabul, Baghlan, Kunduz, Kandahar, Urozgan and
Paktika province in which seven armed rebels were killed and ten others
arrested.

In these operations a number of weapons including 3 Kalashnikovs, a PK
machine gun, 18 mines, 35 kg explosive materials, and 3 motorbikes were
seized by police forces.

It is said that security forces during their patrol in Helmand province
discovered 12 mines which were planted by Taliban rebels for carrying
out terrorist attacks.

According to another report, personnel of 101 Asmayee zone of Kabul
arrested eight persons on charges of murderer and injuring people from
related areas of 2nd precinct, Paghman and Charasyab.

Investigations are under way from the arrested men, said the source.
