Excerpt From an '07 Preachy Race Baiting Speech
In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
"The people down in New Orleans they don't care about as much!" Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims "part of the American family."

@trialdog The federal government shouldn't intervene unless asked by state government unless it is a matter of national security. I agree with you on this but the real problem with the disaster cause by hurricane katrina should have been addressed by the state government first, like it was in Mississippi and Alabama

Remember Bush called the Gov. of Louisiana (Blanco -[D]) and pleaded with her to take emergency action or declare a state of emergency, but she instead insisted that she take care of the issue herself. Mayor Nagin failed his city by not issuing emergency actions. It wasn't long until that little fact got covered up. Even Snopes did their usual 'whitewashing' of the event for their democrat masters. Then the (D)s pushed the ever-present 'Bush did it' meme and blamed him for inaction.

Odd how it's a baby when you want to keep it and it's not a baby when you don't.

Though I agree that people's minds are already made up by now, and that nothing will change their minds this late in the game, I disagree with the 'this is all they have' bit.
This video is still quite damning and was completely overlooked in the '08 elections, as it will be again thanks to people marginalizing it. With the push for our nation to be more racially tolerant, the 'great unifier' has proven repeatedly that he is actually the opposite.
