JFK, before he was murdered, was actually going to consider withdrawing U.S. advisers from Vietnam.
If that had happened, there would have been no Vietnam War.
That was probably one of the reasons why the CIA killed JFK.

You sir, are an idiot. When it came to foreign policy back then, BOTH parties were pretty conservative. The Cold War was raging and about the only difference between the two parties was who could out anti-communist the other. EVERY President from Truman to Eisenhower to Kennedy to Johnson got us into that war. It was just the normal SOP back then - containment of communism by supporting whatever anti-communist dictatorship gave the US favorable trade terms - gone haywire. We were doing the same thing in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia/Pacific...only in Vietnam, we ended up sending ground troops...and then we couldn't get out. Read up on your ******* history.
So, let's review: until 1968, BOTH parties were CONSERVATIVE where it came to Cold War policy. Therefore, it was BOTH parties that supported the war until 1968. And here's the kicker: it was LIBERALS (the anti-war movement starting with SDS, religious groups, the Civil Rights movement, academics, students, etc.) that FORCED the U.S. government to get out. In fact, what makes us more moral than you, is that liberals in the Democratic party were the core of the anti-war movement - going against the policy of their sitting President, regardless of the political fallout. In other words, LIBERALS cared more for their COUNTRY then their party, once they came to the conclusion that the war was immoral (let alone unwinnable). Something you people won't do. You'd watch this country go down the tubes before you would ever criticize your precious President. It's the ultimate treason.
