Come on You Sceptics

A symptom of brainwashing is that those inflicted don’t actually know that they have been.

Hopefully a shot of science will wake you from your slumber.

Scientific arguments only please.

But of course, those who just want to learn something are most welcome to ask some inquisitive questions, and I’ll do my best to answer.

  • What is the baseline? 18 - 33K..? The earth is not a black body, it's more gray. Then there is albedo and it's spinning. How about impact of changes in solar UV on the troposphere by indirect means via changes in stratospheric heating? The average atmospheric GE, according to satellite observations, is between 157 and 161 W/m^2. I'm going to assume this model like most treat the earth with an infinitely thick atmosphere with no convection, radiative heat transfer through it with no evaporation, More..

  • Nice info, but you can hardly get most people to understand the earth is older than 10,000 years old. I expect mostly low-brow criticism of this data.

  • Your video implies that the match between the model you use and satellite observations are proof of the model. A model matching real data is no proof of the model - a match is a necessary condition but not a sufficient condition.

The actual proof of a model is its predictive ability - in particular it must predict data not yet obtained - i.e. reasonably close predictions of temperature in the future must be achievable, not the silly and anti-scientific hind-cast matching that climatologists i More..

I agree that the 'greenhouse' effect exists, but its significance and contribution to Earth's climate and temperature is highly doubtful.

To cut to the chase and check its significance we must do what all good science does - compare predictions made by the theory (i.e. your CO2 presentation) against actual data.

CO2 has been increasing over the last few decades, particularly in the last decade - yet temperatures have NOT increased significantly over the last decade, and the models ha More..

    • @Clivenio PDO flipped in 2008 to a cool phase and the AMO might do the same in a few years.. I'm interested what Solar Cycle 25 does if anything.. Interesting times ahead for climate science.

So the current excuses for failure of the claimed impact of CO2 and associated climate models is that other factors have swamped the effects of CO2.

That is simply grasping at straws - especially considering that the majority of the warming we've seen to date is easily explicable via those same factors and cycles that are being cited for the current lack of warming !
The problem is that with a system as complex as the Earth's and an economic impact as great as carbon mitigation, you'v More..

  • Can someone get this guy to make a cheap electric car/pod?

Please explain the feedback mechanism of hydrogen and where the hydrogen comes from in the atmosphere.

    thanks

    • @Clivenio so the hydrogen doesn't come from the sun? am i looking at data thats different to everyone else...

      Hydrogen is the building blocks.

Its called organic chemistry. It comes out of stars.

      thats my picture
