[/*][/list]WOFL - Marine wives, fiancés, girlfriends, as well as other family members, all waited patiently for a glimpse at the faces of their loved ones faces they haven't laid eyes on for seven long months. And then finally, you see Lance Corporal Pedro Alicea rubbing his eyes, tears falling, and then he says, "There's no way to prepare for seeing you guys. I didn't know who was going to come." Alicea said.
Lance Corporal Pedro Alicea couldn’t possibly predict who would be here today, his immediate family, wife, sons, brother-in-law, nephews, and the surprise that wasn't supposed to happen. Alicea tells us, "I get here and see my father-in-law, and out of nowhere I see my father! I'm like you guys said he couldn't come! I should have known better, should have known better. But he came and, it's overwhelming!"
Pedro and the 21 other marines served to transport supplies and personnel on the Afghanistan roadways, mostly in Helmund Province.
They were under constant threat of I.E.D's. But for this group, there were only minor injuries and the entire group is coming home.
There were two new babies born to this group, and this was the first time the dads were able to hold their infants.
