A Visit to Top Shed, 1960
more from the acclaimed series from the late 1950's and early 60's ..Railway Roundabout 1959.
this is a visit to Kings Cross which was known as Top Shed (34a)
shown at the start is one of the very first diesel locomotives from North British Locomotives of Glasgow
which was delivered into traffic at the start of 1960. it had an 1100 h p MAN Diesel engine built under Licence.
Some of the glorious A4 Pacifics like 60022 Mallard and the Flying Scotsman are also on display in this perhaps the best on-shed visit.
