Highest Tides in The World.
During each 12½ hour tide cycle, a billion tonnes of water flow in and out of this bay – that’s more than the flow of all the world’s freshwater rivers combined! The tide peaks out at around 15m but the highest tide ever recorded was 16.6m (54.5ft) at Burncoat Head, Nova Scotia.

Getting 20 points on live leak is like becoming the age permitted to vote. It feels like it's important, but it probably isn't.

This is the spot for a hydroelectric powerplant. Run it off of the tides.

We have similar tides here in Broome, Western Australia. They always catch out tourists on Cable Beach. They wander out 400 metres or so to the water at low tide and get caught when the tide comes in - they can't outrun it. We have a busy rescue service because the idiots just won't believe you when you tell them.

What's so funny? What are you laughing at? You did it again didn't you? You left the water running. What's wrong with you? Why do you do that? I told you not to do it.

Very nice! The Bristol Channel in the UK is number 2, with a tidal range of 14 Metres. There is a debate going on about installing a huge barrage for generating electricity - whether it will happen or not time will tell.

@Moron Watch it won't happen. The fossil fuel corporations won't allow it, same with nuclear. These forms of power will only become popular once the paradites have exhausted the earths suppliy of fossil fuel. There's no money to be made from free energy.

@Captainpish I seriously doubt that it will go ahead too. The latest is that the cost will outweigh the benefit, but being as they propose to put a road on top of it then the boost to the South Wales & South West economies this could generate are surely incalculable.
