I'm impressed, buddy! You did quite well. You can still stake up those jalapenos and I would suggest that you do so, Bro. Let some of them turn red and cork up a little. They are really sweet then. Good job and cheerz back at ya.

@-sloop-
Thanks Sloop!
I'll stake up the peppers. They seem OK like they are, but so far your advice has been spot on. Next year I'll be a lot better prepared. As you know, this was a really last minute thing...
Any ideas on the Pumpkins?

@Deeki
I don't protect the tomatoes with anything. The only problem I have is with Tomato Hornworms, and I've only had 5 or 6 that I've found. Lizards and frogs seem to be taking care of everything else for me - except the corn. Looks like most of that has worms on the ends even though I did spray that.
My ex did the opposite to me. I got the house and she got everything else - including the insurance money to rebuild the house after Hurricane Katrina.
Oh, and regarding the pumpkins: Fu More..

Thanks Marco! Well, it rained all day and we just came back from a Hibachi restaurant. We got everything ready for tomorrow though, while we were waiting for the rain to stop...

@RickBond Doesn't look good for N-O, the weather I mean (looked it up). I feel a bit guilty to say that the weather over here is perfect with a cloudless sky and 32C (90F). I keep my fingers crossed for you having the opportunity to BBQ and having a good Sunday.....

Yep, looks like if we do it at all today we'll huddle under the porch.
Don't feel guilty, I think you were overdue for nice weather there

@RickBond Yeah, at last it was nice. School holidays are over tomorrow, but at least my sons had a tropical weekend for a change. Have a nice (lazy) Sunday afternoon and make the best of it, my Sunday is almost over, hehehehe........

Just another "grammaw" thing that I use. I put fish heads under where I am going to plant my tomatoes. I have no idea why but, my tomatoes always come out great.

That's great that you're not using pesticides, but maintenance gets really hard. That's a nice garden though, I wish I had space for a garden.

I'm lucky in that I have "natural" pesticides: snakes, frogs, toads, praying mantis, and MANY lizards that have taken care of many of my pests.

Really nice job on those melons. I'm impressed. Mine all crapped out on me halfway. On the other hand, my jalapenos have already given me 2 yields and I just noticed they are almost ready for another picking.
